Pre-production

While our game has been in development for a couple of weeks now, it's mainly been working on a prototype that we found interesting and fun. Not to mention all the pre-production stuff like timeline management and project planning. Now that all that is out of the way, we can finally get started on putting this game together.

We've run into a major issue, that is one of our teammates has been put on academic suspension. Obviously, this may be a massive hurdle to get over if it's not appealed. Even though nothing has been set in stone just yet, we've preemptively started reorganizing our roles and responsibilities to make up for this.

Our first few tasks are finishing our core mechanics and greyboxing a single region of the map with the end goal of having a vertical slice by next week. I think we're pretty much on track but we might need some extra time by the end of all this. We'll be starting playtesting soon and will absolutely need something to show by then. Ideally, we'll learn what's engaging and interesting about our slice so we can better design the other sections of the game.
